As an avid Mustang Enthusiast that's traveled the entire Southeast Region of the United States to attend Mustang-based events, I knew we had to be a part of Mustangs at Daytona 2022! With this event only being a handful of hours away from our home base, we wanted to make sure we could sponsor the event, volunteer however we could, and do our best to be an ambassador for the growth of the event for years to come!
In just it's fourth year since its inception, Jeff Dixon and Nate Taylor have continued to grow themselves as promoters, and the event for its attendees and sponsors. There were over 300 registered vehicles this year, a great Vendor Row, some awesome adventures that included about a 75-car trip from Gary Yeoman's Ford to Ford's Garage at Bozard Ford in St. Augustine, as well as a 3-lap driving experience on the Daytona International Speedway Road Course!
As a sponsor and vendor, I was able to share this event with many of our customers & vendor partners, and we were lucky enough to share the Midway with two great friends in business - Vengeance Clutch & Mustang Lifestyle. We were able to volunteer to help pick out some show winners, and coordinate that with the other vendors. We were fortunate enough to meet many new faces, make new friends, meet up with old friends and #RepeatOffender customers alike.
We had the chance of a lifetime to drive the RTR on-track at Daytona International Speedway, a moment I'm not sure I'll ever forget. A moment that gave me some serious emotions, as my late Poppy, Paul James Filippone, and I had shared races at that exact venue & we even got to drive by where he and I had sat together.
As with any event, I'm sure the promoters were bombarded with hiccups, issues, complaints, and so on. Yet as a show attendee and a vendor, we were isolated from those issues and didn't experience them in any way. A true testament to the job done by their team. And remember, you'll never please everybody, and they're just doing their best to put on a great show, a great week-long event for all of us Mustang Enthusiasts to have to enjoy with one another. So if you had a complaint yourself, ask what you can do to volunteer and offer to make that an improvement, so we can continue to grow this event here in FL and see it be the next great Destination Event for Mustang Owners for many years to come!!!
All in all, we are so happy to have been a part of this event, to get the chance to attend as an enthusiast, to get the chance to be a sponsor and vendor, and to be able to have some small part in hopefully helping to grow and improve the event for years to come! If you missed it, don't worry, we'll catch you at the next one in 2023!!!
